Capita Local Government has announced today that it has completed its move into One Cathedral Square in Blackburn.

70 employees working on Capita’s place-based partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council have moved into the office. The new site will become the base for the newly extended partnership between Capita and the Council.

Capita is maintaining its existing leases on offices in Blackburn, including Castleway House, as it grows the number of Capita employees based in Blackburn.

The new office has been designed to promote partnership working, with a modern fit out that will allow teams of council and Capita staff to work together in flexible project teams.

Councillor Phil Riley, Executive Member for Regeneration at Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:

One Cathedral Square is a really impressive base for any business.  We are obviously pleased that Capita are bringing 70 employees into the offices – as well as working to create opportunities for growth and prosperity throughout the borough, the presence of these staff members will add value to the town centre economy.”

Ian Richardson, Capita’s partnership director for Blackburn with Darwen, said:

This expansion into Blackburn’s highest profile new commercial development is a great step forward for our partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council. The site will allow us to create a new hub for place-based local government in the North West, helping us to continue to deliver great results for residents of Blackburn with Darwen and the Council.”
