Can you help Make pop-up shop a hit?

Volunteers are being asked to come forward to help run a pop-up shop for the Festival of Making.

The shop on King William Street will open from April 1 until the festival weekend on May 5-6.

It will become a hub for people to learn more about the Festival and get hands on with some ‘making’ workshops such as a ‘make your own wallpaper’ workshop with Graham & Brown.

The Festival of Making, whose creative director is design guru Wayne Hemingway MBE, will see Blackburn town centre come alive with activities, exhibitions and performances all devoted to the idea of ‘Making’.

The two day event will showcase the work of local craftspeople and highlight the world class firms that base themselves here, such as, decorating giants Graham & Brown.

The shop will open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday and people can volunteer for any duration, to help support the opening of the shop and the workshops.

To volunteer contact Emma Coster as soon as possible – emma.coster@blackburn.gov.uk or call 01254 581175.
