Beach lovers from Blackburn will be able to enjoy all the fun of the seaside this summer without having to leave the town.

The Blackburn Beach, organised by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, has returned and has a whole host of fun activities for children including fun rides, amusement activities including mini-golf and aqua zorbing, music and food.

Last year, the artificial beach, which comes with its own deckchairs and buckets and spades, entertained visitors and shoppers throughout the summer.

Manager of the Blackburn BID, Harriet Roberts, said:

We welcome this installation by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council as a measure to attract visitors into the town centre over the summer. The ‘Blackburn Beach’ will be a fun-filled, family friendly few weeks that will give people a chance to come together to enjoy themselves.”

Blackburn Beach is free to the public, with other chargeable attractions, and runs until Sunday, September 4.
