Britain’s Got Talent star Joins Blackburn’s Christmas Celebrations

Ella Shaw who hit the headlines with her appearance on ITV’s Britain’s got Talent will be joining a celebrity line-up of stars for the Christmas Lights Switch On in Blackburn this year.

The talented singer has been booked by The Bee radio and the Blackburn Business Improvement District in a stage show, which will be headlined by Alesha Dixon.

Singer and songwriter Ella has performed on stage alongside some of the best-known names in the music industry including Olly Murs, Rudimental, Neon Jungle and John Newman.

Former St Augustine’s RC High School pupil, Ms Shaw, began singing tuition at 12-years old after auditioning for a local production of the hit musical Annie at the Thwaites Empire Theatre in Blackburn.

The Langho singing sensation came under the national spotlight after securing a place in the Britain’s Got Talent live semi-finals.

She said:

I’m looking forward to appearing and performing at this year’s Blackburn Christmas Light Switch On. It will be a special night for me as it is my hometown and I’ve had so much support from people around Blackburn on my crazy music journey this year. I hope I do everyone proud and wish them a very Merry Christmas.”

Other celebrities appearing at the event organised by partners Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and the Blackburn BID include local superbike champion, Carl Fogarty, Jake Quickenden, soap star Alex Bain who plays Simon Barlow in Coronation Street and the CBeebies Clangers, Tiny & Small.
