New lockdown measures announced.
Government have announced that from midnight, Thursday July 30, 2020, people from different households will not be allowed to meet each other indoors.
These new restrictions will apply to Blackburn with Darwen and other parts of East Lancashire, Greater Manchester and parts of West Yorkshire.
Statement from Blackburn with Darwen Council Chief Executive Denise Park:
“In Blackburn with Darwen, the Council’s Director of Public Health, Professor Dominic Harrison has been advising our residents to limit visitors as part of our local measures to stop the spread of the virus.
The Government has now made this a legal requirement both here in Blackburn with Darwen and in other parts of East Lancashire, Greater Manchester and parts of West Yorkshire.
We are all keen to get the cases down so that we can get on with our lives. Further updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.”
