Borough to mark St George’s Day

Blackburn with Darwen is celebrating St George’s Day, with the Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen attending several events.

On St George’s Day itself, an event at midday is being held in Blackburn Town Centre where roses will be given out, with Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Cllr Alan Cottam in attendance.

The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen will also be attending a family fun day which is taking place on Saturday,  April 25 from 11am until 3pm in Blackburn Town Centre, including street dancing.

There is also a St George’s celebration taking place at Darwen Market all day on Saturday, April 25, which includes a medieval theme.

A service was also held on Sunday, April 19 at Blackburn Cathedral.
