Our libraries may be closed, but they are working hard to keep their members reading during lockdown.
Their new service will allow members to order books to collect from Blackburn Central Library.
The call and collect service will be available from Monday, June 15 for all library members.
The library services are hoping to extend this to Darwen Library in the near future.
How does it work?
Contact the library by phone or by email. Let them know what book you would like to read and choose a time and date to pick it up.
If you’re not sure what you would like to read, the library staff are happy to recommend or pick something for you. Or you can browse the online library catalogue for inspiration.
On your agreed pick-up day the library will call you to explain the process and confirm that everything can go ahead.
The process will operate in line with strict social distancing guidelines and hygiene measures.
Returns can be made any time using the 24 hour returns box at the Northgate entrance or alternatively on your day of pick-up.
All returned stock will be kept in isolation for the recommended 72 hour quarantine period, again in line with official guidance.
Call the library on: 01254 661221, email them at: library@blackburn.gov.uk, or visit them online.
You can also find more information on the libraries Facebook and Twitter.
