On Saturday, March 19, volunteers are required to help plant new trees in the Dell area and also take part in a Spring clean up.

The event, organised by The Friends of Roe Lee Park, takes place from 10am until 1pm.

Helpers will be provided with all tools and equipment  but will need to wear waterproof footwear. Refreshments will be provided.

Jason Walker, Chair of Friends of Roe Lee Park, said: “

Join us planting trees in Roe Lee Park and help your park woodland grow. Planting trees is a unique, thoughtful way of showing you care and helping UK parks, woods and wildlife. The tree you plant in the park will live and grow for generations, a beautiful haven for wildlife and birds. Plus you can come back and visit any time to see your trees progress.”

Roe Lee ward Councillor Phil Riley said:

“The Friends already do such a great job to maintain this community area so it would be great to see some new faces coming out to help us plant or clean up.

“If you can only spare half an hour it would  be a massively appreciated.”
