The countdown to Christmas is well and truly on in Blackburn with the arrival of The Firepit’s festive tipi!
And festive it is with full log cabin vibes, twinkling Christmas lights and beautiful decs, plus a crackling fire and the smell of delicious, mulled wine.
Building on the huge success of last year, it’s set to be ‘the’ place to be this festive season with an exciting line-up of events and activities taking you right up until Christmas Eve.
Step inside and you can enjoy everything from magical visits with Father Christmas to festive face-painting, Christmas crafts and wreath-making.
Or meet with friends and get cosy around the firepit with a delicious hot chocolate and a tasty bratwurst.
At night, the tipi transforms into the ultimate Christmas party spot with live music every Friday and Saturday plus The Firepit’s popular food and drinks offer – with a festive twist thrown in, of course!
Andy Novak, co-owner of the Firepit restaurants, said:
The Firepit Tipi is back for 2024 and we have a packed line-up of festivities to get you well and truly in the Christmas spirit.
Whether your visiting Father Christmas with the kids, enjoying a festive drink with friends or dancing the night away to live music, there really is something for everyone.
And with many of the activities being free to enjoy, it’s the perfect place to head this festive season.
The tipi will be open every Thursday to Sunday with extra days in the run-up to Christmas Eve.

Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Growth and Development, added:
It’s fantastic to see The Firepit’s festive tipi back in the beautiful Cathedral Quarter.
It was a real highlight of our town’s Christmas celebrations last year and I’ve absolutely no doubt it will be the same this year too.
The team at The Firepit always put a huge amount of effort in to the tipi and we’ve helped by supporting their packed programme of things to do – making many of the things free for our residents and visitors to enjoy this festive season.
Take a look at the what’s on guide and start planning your trip now – there’s lots to see, do and enjoy at the tipi and right across the town centre in the coming weeks – perfect for a festive trip into town, supporting local businesses like The Firepit along the way.
With the panto starting at King George’s Hall and the start of the light trail too, we’re well and truly getting into the Christmas spirit here in Blackburn – it’s true, really is the most wonderful time of the year.
And this is just the start.
Next weekend, Blackburn’s Festival of Light is set to return and there’ll be lots going on at the tipi right throughout the day, including the chance to make your own lantern for the popular procession.
Plus, there’ll be extra chances to shop with late-night opening at The Mall Blackburn and Blackburn Market too and, the ‘Not Only a Street Market’ at the tipi.
