Blackburn with Darwen Career Roadshows 2025

A series of events are taking place across the borough to make residents aware of the support available for career development.

There are five roadshows being held in different venues aimed at anyone aged 16 – 65.

Each event will feature stalls from different organisations and services offering vacancies, career advice, training programs and bootcamps.

Councillor Phil Riley, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:

BwD Council has a mission to grow the local economy and bring increased prosperity to the Borough and helping residents to develop and progress their careers is part of that mission.

These events will highlight and showcasing the diverse career options available to anyone wanting to gain employment or even upskill.

We are also there for anyone uncertain about their career paths and I’d like to encourage recent graduates from college or university to attend.

The schedule for the upcoming roadshows is as follows and each event takes place from 1pm until 4pm.

• Wednesday 9th April – Audley Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Neighbourhood Centre Pringle Street, Blackburn BB1 1SF
• Wednesday 11th June – Bangor St Community Centre, Norwich St, Blackburn BB1 6NZ
• Wednesday 23rd July – Darwen Leisure Centre, 3, The Green, Town Centre, Darwen BB3 1PW
• Wednesday 30th July – Bank Top Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Arthur Way, Blackburn, BB2 1QP   
• Thursday 23rd October – Blackburn Youth Zone, Jubilee St, Blackburn BB1 1EP

There will also be information for people interested in exploring volunteering opportunities.
