The Sustainability Team from East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce are hosting four showcase events to highlight the net zero support available to local business.

If you own, manage or work for a local business that is under pressure to present net zero credentials, needs to reduce rising energy costs or even wants to support Blackburn with Darwen in achieving its climate ambitions – then these sessions are for you.

Support and advice is available from the global award-winning sustainability team at East Lancs Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with East Lancashire local authorities and colleges.

They will be running four sessions, covering clear steps that businesses can take towards decarbonisation.

Cllr Quesir Mahmood, Executive Member for Growth and Development at Blackburn with Darwen Council, said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses of all sizes, helping them lower their carbon emissions and potentially saving some money on energy costs – all while supporting the borough as we strive towards our own 2030 net zero targets.

“I encourage as many businesses as possible to sign-up, learn from the experts and take advantage of the cost-free sessions.”

Representatives from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council will also present on the new net zero strategy that will benefit the local area.

Sessions are completely free, funded as part of the Community Renewal Fund, and work on a first come, first served basis.

Sign up now to join them for the first showcase on Thursday 1st September 2022 at the Scholars Restaurant at Blackburn College, 8am – 10am.

The events will have refreshments and the opportunity to network with the speakers and other attendees following presentations.
