Blackburn Museum and Gallery has joined Art UK – the online home for every public art collection in the UK.
Art UK is a charity and their website represents a collaboration between over 3,300 British institutions. The aim is to make art available for everyone – for enjoyment, learning and research.
The project is making art more accessible to the community while raising crucial funds for our collections
Residents and people from all over the world will be able to purchase prints, framed prints and image licenses of our oil painting collection (dependent on copyright status) and some of our Japanese prints and sculpture collections through the online shop. Hopefully in the future we will expand to print on demand products including bags and clothing.
Blackburn with Darwen’s Executive Member for Wellbeing, Cllr Damian Talbot, said:
“It’s great for Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery to be on board with Art UK Shop. The project is making art more accessible to the community while raising crucial funds for our collections. This helps our heritage and history to be more sustainable, especially after the pandemic has greatly reduced visitor numbers. See you in the virtual gift shop!”
