If you’re in the market for seriously good food, then we have just the place for you!

Blackburn Market has just expanded the seating area in its ever-popular food hall to keep up with demand – being packed every lunchtime.

And, it’s set to get even busier with three new stalls added to the mix – Mista Burger, Lahori Street Food and Durty Fries.

Head on down the escalator from The Mall and you can sample dishes from right around the world with authentic Indian food, Turkish, Chinese…

And, of course, a good old cuppa and the best bacon butties!

Councillor Quesir Mahmood, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Growth and Development (and a bit of a foodie!) visited to welcome the new stallholders and see what there was to offer.

He said:

I’d like to say Blackburn Market is a bit of a hidden food gem.

But, the truth is its busy every lunchtime with people who know just how good the food here is.

And, it’s fantastic that that’s been boosted even further with these three new offers – we really are spoilt for choice!

Head to Mista Burger and you can choose from more than 20 different mouth-watering burgers from their large menu.

At Lahori Street Food you’ll find an exciting variety of tastes, including Halwa, Albuhuja, paratha rolls and so many more. It’s already proven so successful that the owners have taken on more space in the market!

And – because all good things come in threes – there’s also Durty Fries – a huge hit across social media with those who’ve already visited. Its name says it all – from chilli cheese fries to fusion fries, masala fries – if it’s fries that you fancy, this is the place.

Of course, this all adds to the favourites that already attract queues of people every single day at the market.

Whatever you fancy, you can be sure to find it in the food hall and you can eat in or take away too.

Councillor Mahmood added:

Blackburn market is now the biggest in Lancashire with more than 120 different stalls.

The food hall is thriving and we’re investing to make it even better, but we also have a really wide selection of other stalls too.

You can buy everything from high quality, locally-sourced fresh produce to clothing, housing goods, flowers and so much more! Including a barbers and beauty too.

It’s a great place to meet with friends to enjoy lunch together and then take a look at what there is to offer.

I’ve been genuinely impressed today. If you haven’t been to Blackburn Market in a while, come and give it a go!

Blackburn Market is open six days a week – Monday to Saturday – from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
