Families looking for some free festive fun are invited to come and take part in Blackburn BID’s Gingerbread Christmas Trail.

The festive treasure hunt, featuring loveable models and selfie zones, starts on Friday (December 2) and runs until New Year’s Eve.

It’s part of the Spend Christmas In Blackburn campaign highlighting the amazing experiences you can have in Blackburn with Darwen this festive season.

As part of the trail, 13 gingerbread models will be scattered around Blackburn town centre.

To find them all, visitors to the town can collect a gingerbread trail map which will reveal each location.

At each of the stops there will be a letter to collect, and once all 13 have been visited it will reveal a festive phrase.

If you complete the form and return it to the Ask Me Point in The Mall Blackburn you could be in with a chance of winning £100 in high street vouchers!

The winning entry will be drawn in January 2023 – with the winner receiving the vouchers to spend in Blackburn town centre.

Venues include: The Works, Trespass, Newground Hub, Rhode Island Coffee, Althams Travel, Utilita, Nationwide, HSBC, Reel Cinema, Grays Schoolwear and Blackburn Library.

There will also be a sleigh in The Mall and a throne in Blackburn Cathedral as special ‘selfie zone’ stops where you can stop and have your photo taken.

Plus, there’ll be gingerbread roaming characters interacting with visitors during the first weekend of the trail.

Catherine Price, Blackburn Town Centre BID Manager said:

Blackburn is becoming increasingly well known for its incredible events – from trails to workshops, and performances to community activities.

Blackburn BID is always looking for something that will attract more footfall to the town to support our businesses – but also something that offers something fun and free for visitors so that they come back again and again.

We’re sure that the Blackburn Gingerbread Christmas Trail will be a success and we look forward to seeing people enjoying the trail.
