Blackburn with Darwen Council is urging residents to stay flood aware as winter approaches.
A page on the Council’s website provides information on flooding emergencies including different types of flood warnings, what to do to prepare yourself and your family from floods and what to do when flooding happens.
You can also keep an eye on the BwD Roads Facebook Page, to keep you informed of any road closures or diversions that may be taking place due to adverse weather.
A website called The Flood Hub has launched to provide local flood advice and information to help householders, businesses, communities and landowners across the North West become more flood resilient.
The website features information about planning and preparing for flood events. There’s also a local area map, containing information about flood schemes, community groups and events across the North West, as well as a ‘Knowledge Hub’ containing downloadable resources and booklets to increase your knowledge and awareness about flooding.
