The official opening of a community garden is taking place at Bank Top Community Learning Centre.
Taking place on Wednesday, 3 June at 12pm, the project has been funded through Public Health, with Twin Valley Homes granting permission to use the land which was directly next to the existing community garden.
The work has included transforming the land from a grassed area to a working garden with ten raised beds, with much of the work completed by volunteers from the THOMAS project.
During the open event there will be garden viewings, and also a Tai Chi workshop taster session.
The garden will remain open to residents and the local community between 12pm and 4.00pm, hosting a traditional afternoon tea with jam and cream scones, and include a raffle.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.
