Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery are calling for local artists to showcase their work in its first-ever Art Open Exhibition on October 1st.
There will be no theme for the exhibition, with the focus on featuring a wide range of artistry. This includes anything from paintings and drawings to sculptures. To get more detail about the exhibition’s entry conditions, they are listed at the bottom of this article.
There will be also be prizes up for grabs and an exciting opportunity for artists to sell their work.
- Artwork submission dates: Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th September 2022, 12:00-4:00 pm
- Exhibition opening: Saturday 1st October 2022 at 2:00 pm
- Prize giving: Friday 30th September 2022 at 7:00 pm
- 1st Place £100, 2nd Place £50, 3rd Place £25
- Public Choice Prize – £50 Voucher at BwD Venues
To submit your work read the conditions and fill in the entry form below or collect a printed version of the form at the Museum’s front desk.
Due to restrictions in hanging space, the museum will require the area of the painting submitted to be no larger than 40″ х 40″ (100x100cm), including the frame. Entries will be strictly limited to either one large piece (max 100x100cm) or two small pieces. Sculptures and other media of a reasonable size can also be exhibited.
Please bring your filled in entry form and the £5 entry fee along with your submitted artwork to the museum between Thursday 15th – Saturday 17th September where a staff member will be there to receive it.
