Legendary singer Elton John is bringing his huge hits to Blackburn.
Blackburn is the place to be for superstar Elton John as he announces a massive gig in the town next summer.
The concert will take place at Blackburn Rovers’ Ewood Park stadium on June 10, 2017 and should bring thousands of people into the town to watch the fantastic show.
Elton John has picked Blackburn as his first ever show in East Lancashire.
He will be performing songs from his latest studio album ‘Wonderful Crazy Night’, as well as massive and well-loved hits from his extraordinary career.
The show is a huge boost to the town, and further confirms its place as a major player in Lancashire.
The borough is enjoying a multi-million pound regeneration including fantastic new spaces such as the Cathedral Quarter and investment into culture across Blackburn and Darwen.
Councillor Phil Riley, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, said:
It is hugely exciting to have a star of the status of Elton John performing in Blackburn. He has been on top of the music game for decades and I am sure there are thousands of fans in the borough and beyond who can’t wait to see the show.
I think it says a lot that not only can the borough attract such a big name act, but also that he has chosen Blackburn as his first ever show in East Lancashire. Ewood Park is a fantastic venue and the borough itself has seen massive investments and improvements. I hope any visitors from outside the area will join residents in discovering all the great things about Blackburn with Darwen.”
Tickets will be on sale from Friday, September 23 at 10am.
