Case Study 3 – Rock FM

Utilising bus shelter advertising has allowed us to get our mission Christmas – Cash for Kids campaign out to the public in a cost effective and targeted way. Blackburn with Darwen are the first council that we have dealt with for outdoor advertising and we have received excellent service from the advertising team.

We purchased a number of sites for a 3 month period as that represented good value for money, but we know we have the option to purchase additional sites for specific campaigns, offering us the flexibility that we require.

Case Study 5 – NHS

What advertising did you take out?

We advertised breastfeeding  on the electronic advert screens at both the bus station in Blackburn and the rail station for 5 weeks from the start of June 2017 as part of the National Breastfeeding Campaign.

The aim was to promote breastfeeding as the ‘best start to life’ and for people to ‘see’ breastfeeding as normal.

How did you find the Bwd Advertising teams processes/customer service?

Extremely helpful at every stage, especially as this was our first experience with BwD advertising team. We even got the rail advert free of charge and also an extra week!

How effective was your campaign?

Our Q1 (April – June 17) breastfeeding rates at 4-6 weeks rose from 46.4%(Q4) to 53.2%.

The interventions that could have resulted in the rise in % was multi-factorial including breastfeeding support in BwD and other activity to support breastfeeding month in June – including the electronic advertising.

Case Study 7 – Blackburn College

Since Blackburn with Darwen Council took over the bus shelter sites in the town, we have found it much easier to book any of our bus shelter campaigns through Richard. He works with the college in an extremely professional way, ensuring our bookings are correct and sending visuals through once they are live. The introduction of the microsite where availability and locations can be seen in real time is a great help as it means we can now look strategically at our outdoor advertising campaigns, and ensure they are of the highest visibility.

The new shelters that have been introduced look excellent and really stand out from the old out-dated ones you see around.
