Darwen Market will join the 1940’s day celebrations by hosting a tea dance in the Annexe.

People are invited to dress up and get their dancing shoes on for a tea dance at Darwen Market on Saturday, August 11 from 12pm – 4pm.

Visit the markets delicious cafés, delicatessens or cake stalls and bring your tasty treats to the Annexe.

Here you can take a seat and enjoy the songs from live Vintage Style Vocalist Kim Antrobus, and if you feel inclined, you can take to the floor yourself!

The tea dance has been arranged by Blackburn with Darwen Council with Award Winning Crafty Vintage to celebrate the town wide 1940’s day event that is being organised by Darwen Town Council.

Cllr Phil Riley, Executive Member for Regeneration, said:

We have listened to customers and market traders who were keen to re-establish a tea dance in the market to celebrate 1940’s day. The event is very popular and one that is traditionally well supported by the town.

Everyone is welcome to this free event. Be prepared to be transported back in time and have a nostalgic vintage afternoon.
