Scam call warning

People have reported bogus phone calls attempting to scam residents.

Callers claimed to be ringing from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council stating that the NHS had given them details of an accident they had been in. When the person asked them to confirm their details the caller put the phone down.

Other people from across the North West also report they had also received a call from someone claiming to be from ‘Blackburn Council’ saying the same thing.

It’s uncertain what the purpose of the call is but it is not legitimate.

Anyone who receives a suspicious phone call can contact Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040.
