Object Identification Day

Published Wednesday 19 July 2017 at 11:42

Have you ever found an interesting object while metal detecting, walking or digging in the garden? Do you have an unknown object and would like to find out more?

If so, why not bring your discovery to Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery on Wednesday, 26th July. From 12 – 2pm. The event is free and no booking necessary.

The museum’s Curator of History will be available to help answer object enquiries and Portable Antiquities Finds Officer, Stuart Noon, will be on hand to identify your archaeological finds and record those over 300 years old.

The Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) is a national programme co-ordinated by the British Museum. It assists with the identification and recording of archaeological finds discovered by members of the public.
