Blackburn with Darwen Council has launched an appeal to recruit 20 new foster carers at the start of national Foster Care Fortnight (May 12-25). Local foster carers are urgently needed to look after vulnerable children and young people – from babies to teens - who can’t live at home for many different reasons.

Blackburn’s Central library’s main entrance is to close until further notice, as conservation work continues.
From Wednesday the 7th May the Town Hall Street entrance to the Library will close and all access to the building will be via the Northgate entrance.

A free dog chipping event at Blackburn Rovers is taking place on Wednesday, 23 April.
Running from 3:30pm until 6:30pm on Car park C, at the Darwen End of Ewood Park, the event will allow dog owners to get their furry friends micro chipped, free of charge.
