This week the Mayor will be out and about once again fulfilling his official engagements.

The Mayor, who began his mayoral year in May, this week will attend the Citizenship Ceremony in the Council Chamber on Tuesday, the Mayoress will attend a RBS banking event at Bowker BMW, also both Mayor and Mayoress to attend the Gilbert and Sullivan Society production of ‘The Pirates of Penzance’ at the Thwaites Empire Theatre on Wednesday, both Mayor and Deputy Mayor to attend the Briefing Meeting for Finance Council in the Mayor’s Parlour on Thursday, to attend the Prince’s Trust Blackburn Team 84’s Community Project Handover, along with the Mayoress on Friday and finally to attend the Mayor of Hyndburn’s Mayor’s Ball at Accrington Town Hall along with the Mayoress on Saturday.

New café is icing on the cake for development

A new café is set to open in Blackburn’s £30 million Cathedral Quarter development.

The coffee shop and dessert bar called BB1 Central will be opposite the railway station and sell a selection of Gelato Icecreams waffles, crepes and other sweet treats.

Smokefree open spaces consultation

Memorial Service 2016

The fourth Blackburn with Darwen Memorial Service will take place in the summer this year.

The ‘Let Us Remember’ annual event usually happens in March but with bad weather forecasted, it has been postponed until June 5 in the hope of brighter skies.

This Week with The Mayor

This week the Mayor will be out and about once again fulfilling his official engagements.

The Mayor, who began his mayoral year in May, will next week attend the Annual Accrington Pals Memorial Service at St John’s with St Augustine’s Parish Church, Accrington on Sunday along side the Mayoress.
