The NHS and Council have announced that from Monday, May 24 a Covid-19 vaccination bus will be visiting various locations across the borough providing first dose Pfizer vaccines to people in the area.

Council supports drive on rapid testing for businesses

Blackburn with Darwen Council is backing a new Government coronavirus testing drive aimed at businesses.

The Government is aiming to increase workplace testing in sectors still permitted to open during lockdown, to detect Covid-19 in staff who are not currently showing symptoms

The Council has already launched a successful SMART programme for rapid testing aimed at residents without symptoms who have to leave home to work or live near the various testing hubs that have been set up.

Symptom-free coronavirus testing comes to the borough

Residents in the borough can now get tested for coronavirus even if they don’t have symptoms, with the opening of two walk-in venues offering ‘rapid SMART testing’ from today (Monday, January 11) – no appointments are needed.

‘Stop Loan Sharks Week’ targets illegal money lending

Blackburn with Darwen Council is backing a national drive aimed at stopping online loan sharks.

Stop Loan Sharks Week 2020 runs from Monday, November 30 to Sunday, December 6 and will be used by the England Illegal Money Lending Team (IMLT) to raise awareness of illegal money lending on the internet and warn of the dangers of online loan sharks.
