Cllr Kate Hollern, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council, has presented a cheque of £500 to Friends of Holy Trinity.

Given through the council’s Your Call scheme and presented to Chair of the Friends group Cllr Phil Riley, the money will help with the series of events which are being held within the historical building, which is located on Mount Pleasant near Blackburn Town Centre.

The Friends of Holy Trinity are utilising the Victorian-era building, built in the mid-18th Century, with events including a film show, a concert by the Blackburn People’s Choir, a folk night and the annual Heritage Day.

Cllr Kate Hollern, Leader of Blackburn with Darwen Council said:

It is fantastic that the friends group is working hard to fully utilise what is such a gorgeous building, and really bring Holy Trinity back to life.

Cllr Riley, Chair of the Friends of Holy Trinity said:

The Friends of Holy Trinity are a group of volunteers who have got together to raise the profile of this beautiful listed building by holding a series of events in the church over the summer months.

We are determined to bring this building back to life and details of events and volunteering opportunities can be seen on our Facebook page – the Friends of Holy Trinity Church. We would welcome new members – please get in touch!
