An open day is taking place on Saturday February 15 at Holy Trinity Church, with local businesses, community groups, volunteers and residents invited to find out about the buildings impressive history and architecture.

Taking place between 11am and 2pm, the event aims to help find a new purpose to bring this long forgotten heritage treasure back into use.

Redundant as a place of Worship since 1984, Blackburn with Darwen Council together with The Churches Conservation trust are looking at ways to unlock the potential of this fantastic space, and want the community to get involved in making this happen.

Looking at ways to utilise the space, whether it could be utilised as a venue, if a Social Enterprise needs a new home or whether it should become a community building, these are options which can be discussed, and more, at the open day.

Holy Trinity Church can be found on Mount Pleasant, Blackburn, BB1 5DQ

Councillor Phil Riley said “Along with the Churches Conservation Trust, we are determined to bring this wonderful building back into community use. It’s been sitting quietly on the hill overlooking the town centre for too long and we want to see it back taking an active part in the life of the town. Please come along and give us your ideas.”
