Hive is Five: Blackburn business network celebrates milestone

A Blackburn and Darwen-based business leaders network has marked a special anniversary at Ewood Park.

Hearing from a range of business leaders including Khalid Saifullah of Star Tissue and Stuart McDonald of Herbert Parkinson, the event was a celebration of the Hive Ambassador Network’s successes over the last half-decade and plans for the future of business in Blackburn and Darwen.

The star turn was from students of Darwen Aldridge Community Academy who gave a magnificent insight into how businesses in the local area have impacted on their development through the work of Hive Business School.

The event also heard about the collaboration between Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and businesses in the borough with Director of Strategy and Funding, Brian Bailey, speaking about the excellent developments in the borough over the last five years and the plans for the future.

Star Tissue director and Hive Chairman, Khalid Saifullah said:

It was great to celebrate Hive’s five-year anniversary with a special event to mark all we have achieved over the last few years, as well as our plans for the future.

As always at these kinds of events, the students yet again stole the show with their excellent presentation.

Whilst we want to celebrate what we have achieved, we also want to look to the future and I would encourage anyone interested in networking with other businesses and helping shape the future of the borough to get in touch to find out more.

Hive Business Leaders’ Network is a business network for businesses based in, or who have an involvement with, Blackburn and Darwen. For more information or to join the Hive Ambassadors Network, email hivebusiness@gmail.com or phone 01254 666490.
