Blackburn with Darwen’s Stop Smoking Service offers a range of personalised support to help you to quit smoking for good.

On top of clinics in pharmacies and GP surgeries the service is expanding all the time with trained stop smoking advisers now able to provide support in communities where it is needed most.

The service provides one-to-one consultation with a trained stop smoking adviser, follow-up appointments, clinic times, quit kits and information and signposting support.

Clinics are now available in the Your Support Your Choice shop on Town Hall Street, Blackburn, every Tuesday from 1pm-4pm and Thursday 9am-1pm and in Darwen Health Centre every Wednesday 5pm-7.30pm and Friday 9am-12.30pm. Appointments are available by phoning (01254) 682037.

From Friday, August 14, drop-in clinics will also be available every Friday from 2pm-4.30pm at Royal Blackburn Hospital in the outpatient department level one, waiting area two.

The Stop Smoking Service is available to residents of Blackburn with Darwen or if you have a GP registered in the borough. For further information contact (01254)  682037 or email: quitsmoking@blackburn.gov.uk

Councillor Brian Taylor, Assistant Executive Member for Health and Adult Social Care, said:

There is a wide range of support available to help you quit, including our local stop smoking service which helps hundreds of people every year.

If you have been thinking about quitting now is as good a time as any to do it and probably the best gift you could give to yourself, your family and your children in 2015.
