A giant selfie photocall is taking place outside Blackburn Town Hall to launch Foster Care Fortnight.

It will happen on Monday, May 16 at 1.30pm, and everyone is welcome to get in the photo. Just come along to the front of the town hall and make sure you are photo ready!

Councillor Maureen Bateson, Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Executive Member for Children’s Services, said:

The giant selfie is a really fun way of bringing people together and raising awareness of fostering. I hope we can get the biggest photo we can and launch Foster Care Fortnight in style.”

Foster carers make a real difference to children’s lives, providing a stable, loving home with the support and encouragement they need to flourish and do well.

A Fostering Fun Day will also take place outside Blackburn Market on Saturday, May 21, from 10am to 2pm.

There will be face painting, henna, music and arts and crafts. Advisors will also be on hand to answer any questions about fostering.
