Get Online Week Kicks Off!

Published Thursday 9 October 2014 at 15:50

This year, the eighth national Get Online Week takes place between  13 – 19 October.

The annual campaign aims to engage thousands of people and inspire them to get online and see what the internet could do for them.

Blackburn with Darwen Council have teamed up with Darwen Aldridge Community Academy to offer a FREE 2hr taster workshop to show our residents how to shop on-line safely and how to grab a bargain whilst shopping for Christmas presents.

The workshop will be delivered from Darwen Town Hall, by two very knowledgeable volunteers on Thursday 16th October 6pm – 8pm.

There are still 9.5 million people in the UK who don’t have the basic online skills to make the most of the internet.

Those who attend a Get Online Week event will can get a helping hand to get to grips with the internet once and for all, whatever their level of skill or confidence!

For more information, or to sign up to attend this workshop please contact Amanda Grimshaw on 01254 222154.
