Blackburn’s Community Carol Service and Festival of Light will take place on Saturday, December 16th.

There will be festive delights for everyone topped off by a spectacular fireworks display in Blackburn town centre.

The carol service, which is the annual civic service to be attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackburn, Councillor Colin Rigby and Jean Rigby, will be held from 3.30pm at Blackburn Cathedral with special guest Reverend Kate Bottley, from Channel 4’s Gogglebox, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Music will come from the Salvation Army Band and Blackburn cathedral Choristers. Donations will go towards this year’s Mayor’s charities: East Lancashire Hospice, Bolton Hospice, Eve Appeal and the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Children’s Fund.

Following the carol service, the Festival of Light will start at 4.30pm with fire performers, street food, music, a lantern parade around Blackburn town centre and a grand firework finale.
