PLANS for a large-scale festive street fair have been unveiled by Blackburn’s Business Improvement District (BID) as part of the Blackburn BIG Christmas campaign.

For one day only, the town centre will be transformed into a BIG Christmas Street Fair featuring street foods stalls, fairground rides and free walkabout entertainment.

Four large marquees filled with food, gifts and presents will spread across the town centre from King William Street to Cathedral Square on Saturday, 10th December.

From crafts and pet accessories to homemade food and vintage gifts, there will be a wide variety of stallholders selling a range of festive products.

The event, organised by the Blackburn BID in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, will take place between 10am – 6pm.

Manager of the Blackburn Business Improvement District (BID), Harriet Roberts, said:

The street fair is a new initiative for the town and with the festive season a few months away, preparations for Blackburn’s BIG Christmas are in full swing.”

We want to enhance the shopping experience for visitors this year and encourage people to spend time locally this Christmas, to explore the varied businesses throughout the town centre and enjoy some great entertainment too. It’s the perfect location to do all your Christmas shopping and pick up unique gifts.”

To avoid missing out, the Blackburn BID are encouraging those interested in having a stall to get in touch as soon as possible as the demand for stalls has already been overwhelming.

Stallholders are encouraged to get involved with the Christmas Street Fair by contacting streetfair@blackburnchristmas.com
