Dozens of people took part in the ‘Mannequin challenge’ to encourage votes for Blackburn in a national competition.

Blackburn is the only North West town to have been shortlisted in the Great British High Street Awards Town Centre of the year category.

School children from Blackburn’s St Michael with St John CofE Primary School, museum staff, Blackburn Town Hall staff, Nigel’s Hairdressers, Costa and Primark along with Blackburn’s Mall staff all stopped deadly still to be part of the social media video.

Even some of the teachers got in on the act!

The Mannequin Challenge is the viral internet craze where people remain frozen in action while a video is recorded. It has taken social media by storm with everyone from the Hilary Clinton to Beyonce getting in on the action.

There’s just four days left to vote for Blackburn. You can vote every day at voteblackburn.com
