Several events took place across Blackburn and Darwen to celebrate St George’s Day.

On St George’s Day itself, an event in Blackburn Town Centre saw roses given out, with Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen Cllr Alan Cottam lending a hand.

A family fun day also took place on Saturday, April 25 from 11am until 3pm in Blackburn Town Centre, which included street dancing.

Similarly, a St George’s celebration took place at Darwen Market all day on Saturday, April 25, which marked the occasion with a medieval theme.

A service was also held on Sunday, April 19 at Blackburn Cathedral.
