Lancashire Fire and Rescue service are currently dealing with a fire at V10 Polymers, a plastic recycle plant, on Patterson Street in Blackburn.
Residents in the area are being asked to stay away from the scene to avoid exposure of the fumes and are advised to keep windows and doors closed.
The fire is now under control, however firefighters will remain at the scene for the rest of the day as they continue to damp down.
Anyone in the area experiencing breathing problems are advised to either see their GP or call 101.
